Expansion across specialties
“Since that period, we've been able to expand from medical oncology to all of our other specialties. It was really game-changing for us, because just like something like revenue cycle management, as you grow an organization, if you don't have these business solutions in place to scale, then you have all kinds of problems. So this has been super helpful for our practice.”

Faster authorizations and higher first-pass approval
“Once we deployed RISA for our pharmacy, the authorizations are now completed within a couple of hours. And by the end of the day, there's no longer any residual work that flows over to the next day. So we've been able to drive significant efficiency there. On the radiology side, our first-pass approval was in the mid-80 percent for radiology studies. RISA took over — it's in the mid-90 percent. So we've seen a significant uptick in terms of first-pass radiology approvals without having to use four people.”

Expansion into medical authorizations
“Now that we've done that, we are now moving to medical authorizations, which is a bit more complicated than pharmacy. But the way we view this is that we have pretty good workflows that we've developed over the years with humans. So we see RISA essentially being the AI agent that sits on the desktop of our medical authorization people. And we're developing those workflows now in terms of how our prior authorization people on the medical side work with the RISA AI agent to do medical authorizations. But I think the key is that once you've established the original foundation and you've launched the first use case — that might take two or three months — the bolt-on use cases happen much more quickly.”event

Day-one implementation
“Using RISA, we were able to pretty much implement from day one. It wasn't a ramp-up. It was full on. The moment we said on this day we're taking it, that's when we used RISA. And it's pretty much been heaven since, to use my words. The fact of the matter is, this past month they did about 2,100 cases.”

9,000 cases and 98% first-pass approval
“It's similar with what Sunstate was able to do with RISA. For just January to May, they've touched more than 9,000 cases. And with those cases, it's been about 98% first-pass approval. I mean, that's unheard of.”

Growth without additional hiring
“You don't have to worry about ramping up if you decide to keep growing. You don't have to keep trying to find new employees. It's going with the flow and allowing you to keep growing without having to stop and try to hire people to work those cases.”

Quality and accuracy
“We also spot check, and it has shown the truth: we're not finding those possible human errors that would have happened — missing a pathology that wasn't attached, or missing one of the drugs of the five or six that the patient has on the regimen because it's on day two, things of that sort. We are not finding those errors. So that's the best part of it all as well.”
